It has sleeping accommodation for four, kitchen area, computer, TV/DVD and a modern bathroom with tub. It is on the first floor for easy access with windows to the street and yard. Entrance and parking is in the courtyard which has trees and children's play area. The view from Kaznacheiskaya and Griboedova Canal just few steps from your apartment. Between these buildings you enter Sennaya Ploschad, a central marketplace and transportation center almost as old as Saint Petersburg. [Sennaya in 1800s] The Sennaya apartment is in a very convenient location. It is a very pleasant walk to the Mariinsky theater along the Griboedova canal, or in the other direction to Nevsky Prospect and the Church on the Spilled Blood. This area is less "touristy" than Nevsky Prospect and you are among locals most the time. You can experience the "Venice of the North" from a walk, or take a boat tour right at the Sennoi Bridge near your apartment. The apartment was recently completely renovated. It is euro style with brightly painted walls in light blue, biscuit white and burgundy red. It is decorated with engravings and maps of St. Petersburg which are informative as well as decorative. The entrance has tile floors and the large bedroom has wood parquet in the fir tree design. Security is very good, there are electronic locks on the arch gate and the hall door. There is a granite plaque on the building memorializing Dostoevsky. Your apartment is in the next building. Don't worry, the neighborhood is safe and very pleasant now. Internet is available on the computer with dialup card. And a very fast connection is available on Sennaya Ploschad at the Internet Club in the PIK center. I like the Orange Club, a fancy place nearby with live music and coffee. But late at the night the home access can be nice also. The floorplan is convenient. You enter from the hall to the kitchen and dining table, then down the hall to the bathroom and on to the large bedroom. The kitchen has sink. microwave, hotplate, dishes and so on for basic food preparation. The new bathroom has a big tub and shower, tile up the walls and floor and pedestal sink. The bedroom has a queen bed, end tables, a fold-out divan, dresser, desk with computer, entertainment center for music and movies and cable TV. You can always find a book to read in English or Russian on the shelf and some movies too. Your host in Russia will be glad to arrange to meet you at the airport and make sure you get safely and easily settled for your visit. It usually costs about $35 to get a car. This worthwhile, it takes 30 minutes in good traffic to get to the center from Pulkovo II airport and with the increasing cars now on the road it can take more than an hour. Many private drivers charge $45 and the taxi rates have become very high. We want you to enjoy the cultural splendor and the mystic soul that is Saint Petersburg. Convenience living and easy access to all center activities. Many wonderful buildings, shops, museums, concert halls and monuments are minutes form your door in any direction. Every walk is one of discovery. The map below gives some idea how close major attractions are.
